The Structure
If there are to be multiple service ashrams, each can vary somewhat in its structure, though certain core elements will probably be shared in order to keep the work pure and on track.
It is likely that many best practices will reveal themselves in time.
- Vegetarian/Vegan household with shared meals - nonviolence is a vital part of living a life of service.
- Meditation - in the mornings and evenings
- Silence - for certain designated periods
- Work time - designated hours. This work can be broken down into work on projects, maintaining the house/garden, etc.
- Free time - free time can be used to continue working on projects or for anything. It's important to allow people to feel alive in their own particular way.
- Checking In - meetings or discusssions will take place regularly in order to keep flowing communication and harmonious living.
