The Positions
At the Service Ashram, the positions themselves are treated as the gurus. It's important to move people around between positions so that the ashram can be sustainained and not dependent on any particular individuals. As long as there is great respect for the positions, it will sustain.
- The Anchor - this is, by far, the most important role. One person, ideally someone established in service, must live in complete alignment with the spirit and rules of the ashram. In embodying these qualities, it keeps the intention intact and sets an example for everyone else. Without a solid anchor, things will inevitably fall apart.
- Ashram Manager - Ensures that all the roles are filled and that everything is flowing smoothly. He/she is also the primary enforcer.
- Kitchen Manager(s) - Ensure that meals are planned, that the kitchen is stocked, and that sufficient help is on hand.
- Project Managers - different managers will take the lead role on various projects.
